City Navigator
This mapping software comes on a CD and is made for, and included with, the
StreetPilot III Deluxe, StreetPilot 2610, and the StreetPilot 2650. It's not sold
separately in the U.S. or Canada. City Navigator comes in four editions: Australia,
Europe, the Middle East, and North America. Major metropolitan and rural areas
are covered and include over 5 million points of interest in the North American version.
The maps support automatic routing for generating instant point-to-point routes.
City Select
City Select supplies the same type of detailed data for metro and rural areas
as City Navigator, but for more models. Garmin recommends City Select for the
following models: cf Que 1620, eTrex LegendC, eTrex VistaC, GPS 18 Automotive
Bundles, GPS V, GPSMAP 196, GPSMAP 276C, GPSMAP 296, GPSMAP 60C, GPSMAP 60CS,

Points of Interest
The Points of Interest software is for Garmin models without built-in maps, but which
can store points of interest data. These units are the eTrex Venture, GPS 152,
GPS 72, GPS 76, and the Rino 110. This CD database has four categories of
interest: businesses, cities, landmarks, and marine. You can load separate
groups or all of them. There's only a North American version but the cities
and marine navigation aids are worldwide. The data includes addresses, phone
numbers, descriptions, and highway exit data. In addition to navigation aids,
the marine points of interest include marinas, obstructions, and hazards for
the U.S.
Trip and Waypoint Manager
While this software will work for most of Garmin's receivers, it's made
specifically for those without map detail or city points built in. These models are
the GPS 12, eTrex, eTrex Summit, Geko 201 and the Geko 301. The software lets
you plan your trip on your PC, then transfer the trip data to the receiver.
Conversely, you can transfer data back to your PC for backup storage. The Trip
and Waypoint Manager includes a worldwide database of general features such
as major cities and highways, oceans, and political boundaries.

eTrail
eTrail has over 3,520 km (2,200 miles) of walking trails and 487 peaks with
over 140,000m of climbing. 200 of the U.K.'s and Ireland's best walking routes
are completely described and include over 500 photographs. The interactive
CD lets you save and upload your waypoints to your GPS receiver. The route details
include their length and typical duration, element of difficulty, type of
terrain and gradient profile, information centers, and nearby towns. And the route or
other information can be printed as a reference. Note that eTrail is a route product,
not a mapping product. No map is downloaded, only the route waypoints.
eTrail requires a PC with a serial port running Windows 95, 98, 2000, NT or
XP and a minimum Pentium 166 processor. The routes can be saved to all eTrex,
eMap, GPS 12/CX/MAP/XL, GPS 48, GPS 76, GPS II Plus, GPS III Plus, GPS V,
GPSMAP 76/176/176C, Streetpilot Color Map/monochrome and StreetPilot III GPS
receivers.
